That's it!
The "reef balls" Made in Seychelles is finally under water along the Coral Garden site.
It has been several months since we had chosen, in agreement with Rodney Quatre Marine biologist for the Seychelles Marine Park authority, to manufacture artificial supports to help the regrowth of coral.
Coral Garden is not a granite site but a carbonate site resulting from the construction of a sustainable mineral substrate (composed of calcium carbonate) secreted by living organisms, primarily corals.
Since the El Nino in 1998 that led to the deaths of nearly 80% of corals, this type of substrate sites in Seychelles shows much more difficulties in recovering its health; because they are not protected by a lagoon, broken coral rubble constantly moving under the action of waves prevents the prevalence of new recruits.
Adding a solid substrate seems to us therefore entirely appropriate.
Meanwhile, the Marine Park of Curieuse located opposite the diving center was closed to the public following the shark attacks of last year.
We therefore waited for the lifting of the ban to deploy our four concrete domes with holes.
